Ben’s academic background lies in both engineering, holding a BSc in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, as well as finance. He is both a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst.
His varied career has seen him travel across the world, working in over twenty countries in Africa as well as in the US and the UK. He has worked in a range of industries including telecommunications, tech, consumer goods, retail and e-commerce, all the way to Family businesses.
He plans to use his year at Oxford to learn from his peers and faculty, to establish a constructive entrepreneurship/start-up and Fin-Tech community network while exploring developing start-ups around financial inclusivity & marketing analytics.
Reflecting on his own appointment, Ben said:
‘I am super excited to have been selected as a ROMBA fellow for the 2022 cohort. I am incredibly passionate about equality and inclusivity. The fellowship will be an opportunity to learn from other fellows how to make our communities, both at work and at home, more inclusive regardless of one’s identity.
While at Oxford Saïd, I want to grow the scope and partnerships of the ROMBA community with organisations in the UK, EU and Africa, increasing the amount of pre-MBA Treks and ROMBA conferences in these areas.
Aside from this, and what the MBA program itself offers, I can’t wait to meet the rest of my class. From our virtual networking sessions, I am pretty intrigued by the diversity and depth of this cohort and I can’t wait to meet everyone in person.’
