Two of the School's alumni, Daniel Drummer (pictured) and Matt Watters, have been listed in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 2017.
The annual compilation identifies 300 of the brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers from ten different sectors, and judges include industry leaders as well as fellow alumni.
Daniel Drummer (MBA 14) is listed within the Finance category. He is a Fintech expert and was a co-founder of TonalityTech, a company that provides big data and sentiment analysis solutions to the investment industry. Since finishing his MBA in 2015, Drummer has completed the ‘Future of Fintech’ project for the WorldEconomic Forum and worked as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company.
‘To be listed in Forbes' 30 Under 30 was a genuine surprise for me,’ he said. ‘I am humbled to be included in such a prestigious list. The MBA at Saïd Business School served as a valuable time to reflect and discover what I enjoy doing most, and it played a critical role in bringing me to where I am today. Most of all, I am thankful for the many good friends, mentors and role models who have helped me along the way.’
Drummer now works for J.P. Morgan as Vice President for Fintech Strategy & Partnerships, where he is helping to build the Corporate & Investment Bank's London-based Fintech team. ‘Working at the intersection of emerging technologies, investment banking and the fast-pace entrepreneurial ecosystem is as exciting as it is demanding, and I feel blessed to be able to do what I love,’ he said.
Matt Watters (MBA 12) is included within the Law & Policy section. Since completing his MBA he has risen through the ranks of management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he now holds the position of Engagement Manager. Watters’ current projects include a service to the Government of Sierra Leone that has enabled $800 million of investments into the country since the Ebola crisis.
