Profile

Jessica Stitt began her DPhil in Management Studies in 2014 working with Janet Smart and Pegram Harrison.

She is a member of Green Templeton College. Her DPhil is a partnership between Saïd Business School and the British Museum, funded through the AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Awards scheme. She is also a recipient of a Saïd Business School Foundation Scholarship.

Jessica is a PACR accredited conservator, and prior to coming to Oxford worked in the cultural heritage sector in collection management, having earned an MA in Principles of Conservation and an MSc in Conservation for Archaeology and Museums from UCL, both awarded with distinction.

Jessica's research applies the tools and techniques of operations management in order to analyse museum processes. Her DPhil looks specifically at documentation backlogs in museums in order to understand how and why such backlogs occur, and what their impact is on collections management and wider museum operations.
