- So the social finance programme is primarily about blended finance, and so we look at the whole range of finance from philanthropy through to impact investing, and how that can be used to address social needs across the world. - It's not just about setting up structures or talking about finance, it's really talking about people. It's really talking about leadership and it's really talking about ethics. - It brings together people who are looking to influence and play the impact investing space. It brings them together to help them get the competences, knowledge and networks to help them in their quest to mobilise capital for impact. - We have, in the classroom, colleagues from finance, colleagues from NGOs and foundations, and colleagues that are really searching for answers that may not know the language or the tools but are eager and passionate to create that change. And that's what comes out. That's the magic in the sauce. This mixture of colleagues with different perspectives from multiple countries trying to make a difference. - You not only learn from very inspiring faculties but also you are surrounded by fantastic practitioners who are coming from very different backgrounds, have a wealth of expertise. - We speak to people who are actually closing deals on a regular basis, and they're giving us not only the good sides of the great results that they're achieving but also the the messy side behind the scene. How do you actually make different stakeholders who do not always have aligned interest work together and achieve outcomes? - And it's very important now to roll up our sleeves and look at problems very differently and therefore solutions very differently. - It's at Oxford, a 900 year old university, world class research and teaching institution, but also within Oxford at the Saïd Business School, a young innovative entrepreneurial school that has really developed an expertise in understanding impact and blending impact and business impact and climates. - It's not just this week, but it's your future. And we've watched our students grow from creating their own businesses with colleagues from the classroom to initiating major drives for substantial change. - Being exposed to these experiences have really encouraged and inspired me. I think that this has been life changing for me and I've really been blessed to have this opportunity.
