- It's super important for pretty much anyone in a leadership role or aspiring to a leadership role in all kinds of sectors, all around the world to know something about AI as it applies to their industry or their sector or, and indeed their business, their company, and the people who work for their company. But, I think what really gets people hooked and excited here is to think about the opportunities that come from having a deeper understanding of what AI is, what it isn't, what it can do, and indeed what it can't do. - I truly think it's not kind of a fashion topic, It's something that we need to work on to understand, in order to be ahead of the game. - Definitely the best thing about this programme at Oxford is actually the sheer range of backgrounds that people come from. We've had a tremendous range of students on this programme from all sorts of industries, from defence, to logistics, marketing, advertising, security, academia, retail, all across the economy, and they all come at it with slightly different motivations, obviously, and that really adds to the overall experience people get, and if I had to kind of put a percentage on it, I'd actually say that the learning you get from the co-participants is probably half of the value of the course. - It's particularly important when we start to talk about some of the more difficult and challenging issues around AI and technology and data; particularly to do with things like privacy, ethics, responsible use of these technologies, because we need to have different perspectives in those debates so that we can come out of the other side of those debates with a well formed and well rounded point of view. - I chose Saïd because the programme seemed to be very business oriented, not like the technical courses offered by other universities, and it turned out to be true. - [Professor Stephen] Because this is not a topic that is just about technical things, in fact, one of the things that we learn pretty quickly in the programme is AI is not as much about the data and the technologies and the platforms and the algorithms; it's about people. - The three words that I would use to sum up this course are mind-blowingly useful. I've taken the course three times now as one of the co-directors of it and I'm nonetheless still sitting in class, furiously writing down notes whenever anybody else is talking because so many interesting points come up, but, it all goes to creating this tapestry of wider information about the field that becomes incredibly useful when you are looking at how to implement AI in your own business or industry. - It's a world class opportunity, world class institution, that I am humbled to have been afforded the privilege to study with; getting to know the students and the people around the programme was fascinating and awesome. - The risk of not learning about AI in business, I think, is being left behind. If you're not up on these things, you're not going to be as relevant in this economy. Not 10 years from now, but, two years from now. I would say prepare for the future. That's what this is really about. - The Diploma of Artificial Intelligence for business is totally worth it and if you're considering doing it, just go and do it.
