About the programme

Governments across the Asia-Pacific region are investing heavily in services and infrastructure necessary to support future growth and prosperity. This surge in project activity is happening at the same time as some of the most significant challenges the industry has ever faced. Global factors like supply chain disruptions and local issues such as skills shortages and complex stakeholder relationships have amplified long-standing productivity challenges.

The burden of these challenges rests on the senior leaders responsible for project delivery. Many are encountering new, complex issues they've not faced before, requiring updated skills and fresh perspectives. Even the most seasoned project professionals need new tools and approaches to navigate this evolving landscape.

Attendees typically have significant responsibilities within project organisations or hold executive roles that oversee major project activities. We value diversity and encourage applicants from beyond the core project management disciplines and sectors such as infrastructure. Previous participants (including those from the international MPLA) have held executive positions in finance, legal, procurement, communications, IT, HR and community relations. They have represented projects ranging from building nuclear submarines to delivering new social security systems and overhauling national fire services.

You will develop relationships with colleagues from across APAC with a common purpose of delivering public value for their communities. They will support you as you become part of a global alumni network that continues well beyond the programme.

Programme elements

Residentials

The two five-day residentials provide an immersive learning experience where you will engage and network with peers and world-leading experts.

The residentials will be held in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. They offer an environment free from the distractions of everyday work life.

The weeks feature deep dives into relevant topics, networking opportunities and guest speakers from industry.

Masterclasses

Addressing the most pressing challenges facing major project leaders today. Conducted over three weeks, they include individual pre-work, a two-hour live virtual session led by Oxford Saïd faculty or EY experts, and post-session work where participants apply the insights to daily practice.

Leadership assessments

Two leadership assessments to enhance self-awareness of your leadership impact. This includes the Hogan Personality Inventory and the MPLA 360 Assessment, with one-to-one debriefs of both assessments conducted by accredited faculty.

Impact groups

Small groups of five to six participants that provide a supportive environment to discuss leadership challenges and reflect on applying the programme’s teachings to real-world situations. Groups are facilitated by a dedicated faculty member to ensure meaningful interaction and success.

Impact assessment

As you progress through the programme, you will apply your learnings to your role and collaborate with peers in impact groups. These practical experiences and reflections will culminate in an impact assessment, presented to peers at the closing ceremony.

Working alongside global thought leaders and practitioners from Oxford University, Saïd Business School, EY and peers, you will get to put the best theory and thinking into practice, solving your most challenging adaptive problems in your programme.
