I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in and complete the Oxford Entrepreneurship: Venture Creation Programme after finishing the Venture Finance Programme.

At the core of my life’s journey lies a belief in the power of continual learning. Every day presents an opportunity for me to grow and evolve, whether it’s by learning new things, mastering new concepts, or expressing my creativity through poetry.

My participation in both Oxford entrepreneurship programmes was driven by my unwavering commitment to expand my knowledge and skills to understand the full process of entrepreneurship. As an Innovation Manager at the HUN-REN Office for Supported Research Groups, my goal was to further equip myself with the tools and insights necessary to support Hungarian researchers in translating their innovative ideas into impactful ventures.

Despite challenges I faced, such as managing my everyday workload and facing geographical obstacles (including attending a conference on the other side of the world), my determination led me to participate in all the live sessions, even if it meant waking up at 4am.

Growing through education

Structured over six intensive weeks, the Oxford Entrepreneurship: Venture Creation Programme, led by Professor Thomas Hellmann, delved into the intricacies of entrepreneurship through modules such as identifying business opportunities, understanding your entrepreneurial talents, analysing customers and markets, crafting a business model and launching and pitching a venture.

This programme served as another catalyst for my personal and professional growth. Beyond acquiring theoretical knowledge, I honed practical skills essential for navigating the complex landscape of entrepreneurship. The live sessions, compulsory readings and assignments not only boosted my confidence, but also enhanced my ability to pitch ideas effectively. As I reflect on my journey, I recognise the transformative impact of the programme, empowering me to approach challenges with more resilience and adaptability.

Overcoming challenges

Navigating through the programme was not without its challenges. Balancing coursework with professional obligations tested my time management skills and forced me to prioritise effectively. However, these challenges served as invaluable learning opportunities, reinforcing the importance of perseverance and determination.

An experience I recommend to everyone

The programme's dynamic approach, incorporating video lectures, interactive discussions and challenging assignments, fostered an enriching learning experience. The diverse perspectives of fellow participants added depth to discussions, providing me with invaluable insights into real-world entrepreneurial challenges. As I navigated through modules, I found myself continuously refining skills that I could immediately apply in my role at the HUN-REN Office for Supported Research Groups.

It's not a goodbye

In conclusion, the Oxford Entrepreneurship: Venture Creation Programme has been an invaluable chapter in my professional journey. Armed with newfound knowledge and skills, I am poised to make meaningful contributions to the innovation ecosystem at HUN-REN and beyond.

I look forward to reconnecting with fellow participants from both the Venture Creation and Venture Finance Programmes at the elumni reunion scheduled for October in Oxford.
