Dr Michael Gill and Professor Sue Dopson have been honoured by the Centre for Management Consulting Excellence.
The Centre for Management Consulting Excellence (CMCE) aims to share academic research and practitioner experience to the benefit of the consulting community.
Now in its third year, the CMCE’s Research Awards is the world’s only awards scheme that recognises those who seek to better understand management consultancy through academic research. Drawing on papers published in English over the last two years, the awards celebrate research excellence in the following areas:
- Client relationships
- The changing environment for the consultant
- Technology and consulting.
Michael and Sue’s paper ‘Negotiating Imitation: Examining the Interactions of Consultants and Clients to Understand Institutionalization as Translation’ has won in the Client relationships category. The research, published in the British Journal of Management, seeks to uncover the ways in which key players within an organisation affect the translation of management practices.
