Space luminaries, including Colonel Chris Hadfield, will be joined by 30 of the world’s most promising space startups, at the University of Oxford on 6-8 March.
The event, featuring the former commander of the International Space Station, will help place Europe at the forefront of space exploration.
The 'unprecedented' meeting, hosted by the Creative Destruction Lab Oxford (CDL-Oxford) at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, will bring together a global mentor community of astronauts, entrepreneurs, investors, and scientists. Collectively, they represent fields related to space exploration & transportation, satellite communications, earth observation, and robotics. Anousheh Ansari, the world’s first self-funded woman to fly to the International Space Station, and CEO of the X-Prize Foundation, will also be in attendance.
A key part of the CDL-Oxford mentoring event will be to foster the rapid commercialisation of space technologies, at a time when the European Space Agency is calling for investment in infrastructure to allow for the development of domestic European space launch capabilities.
