About the event
Ethics and safety are vital topics in AI, both in relation to high-profile failures and regulatory efforts already underway worldwide.
This webinar is for executives, board members, senior leaders, managers and experts who require a broader understanding of impending AI regulatory changes and policy implications and the impact this will have on the organisations they lead. It will provide you with the relevant knowledge how to create and operate safe and ethical systems in the fields of AI that comply with the upcoming AI regulation.
The first major AI regulation is expected to pass into law in April this year (the EU’s AI Act), while many other countries have AI regulation proposals at advanced stages. Although different in terminology, it is also expected that the 'Brussels Effect' will lead to global AI regulatory convergence. When the AI Act passes, many observers have anticipated that we will see similar patterns to the introduction of the GDPR in 2016, with a lot of demand for insight what compliance entails. This will apply to firms that have to comply, as well as consultants and lawyers that will have to provide advice on AI regulation.
Learning outcomes from this webinar:
- Understand the main causes and consequences of AI failure in terms of reputational, legal and regulatory implications.
- Be aware of the main regulatory efforts underway globally, and what objective regulators are pursuing.
- Recognise the fundamental difference between AI compliance to other compliance efforts, such as GDPR.
- Understand the concept of trustworthiness, and how it is used by regulators in the compliance process.
- Gain an overview of the AI compliance process, especially the conformity assessment mandate for high-risk AI systems.
- Be aware of the timelines and penalties for non-compliance with the AI Act.
